Artquest Challenge

The 30works30days challenge aims to inspire artists to engage in daily creativity, embrace uncertainty, and explore new ideas. With close to 800 participants worldwide, artists commit to producing a fresh piece of art each day throughout April, showcasing their creations on the Artquest website.

What is Artquest?

Artquest is an organisation for artists. It aims to help artists develop their professional practice and is dedicated promoting equality for artists within the art industry.

How does the ‘30 works 30 days’ challenge work?

Each morning throughout April, Artquest sends out a daily prompt to participating artists via email. The challenge is to create an artwork based on the prompt, or ignore it and do your own thing, it doesn’t matter which, take a photo of it, and post it on the Artquest website by midnight, UK time. It can be a painting, photograph, text, video or audio.

Miss a day, and you’re out of the project.

The idea is to encourage artists to experiment with new ideas, styles, materials or techniques and to work fast. As these paintings have to be fitted into our daily lives, sometimes we may have very little time to create our artwork. By working fast, and occasionally cutting corners, fresh ideas and new ways of working can often be developed. It’s also fun to do, an opportunity to connect with other and I am really enjoying looking through each days submissions and seeing how other artists have interpreted the brief.
