The Shimmering Glade

The Shimmering Glade was inspired by foliage and woodland flowers emerging in a sunlit clearing, during a woodland walk, and the beauty and movement of water winding between the trees. It was a warm sunny day in springtime.

The Shimmering Glade is a warm, vibrant painting.
I combined soft, flowing brushstrokes with the sharper, textured marks of palette knives to suggest, in an abstract form, my interpretation of water flowing through a shimmering glade.
