The Daily Abstract

These abstracts are small paintings that I create to experiment with different ideas, techniques and materials. They are a visual diary of abstract ideas which I hope you will enjoy.




Mixed media;

  • Acrylic Paint
  • Indian Ink
  • Fern leaves
  • Sand
  • Wood base approx 13cm x 25cm 


Exploring a cold woodland at night by torch gave me the idea for this little dark painting. By using mostly black, white, and gray paint, I was aiming to create a sense of isolation and quietness, dark and moody. I added a little warmth with red and yellow paints and ink.
