Carbide Miner. The Inspiration:
Having been a regular explorer of disused mines in the UK, particularly Wales, I have been fascinated by the effects of minerals and time on these fascinating environments. Visually inspiring, often difficult to get into and filled with the twisted, rusting remnants of our rich, mining past.
This little painting reflects the colours and textures seen on the decaying walls as minerals leach out, often encouraged by seeping rain water, creating a kaleidoscope of colour.
