On January 1st, 2022, I challenged myself to post an abstract painting each day for a year onto a blog I created called “The Daily Abstract”.
It began with a project in late 2021, with a challenge to paint an abstract a day for 100 days, but the project grew. I wanted to push myself both technically and creatively and used the opportunity to explore the visual language of abstraction. Each painting provided an opportunity to experiment with different creative processes, colour, texture, form and light, to capture the beauty of abstraction in each painting.
One day soon, I will get all the paintings together and arrange them on the floor in the order in which they were painted and will photograph them. It’ll be interesting to see all of them together and the changing and developing ideas, styles, techniques and colours.
One year later and I’ve just posted the 365th abstract painting 😊.
Take a look and check out The Daily Abstract.
Enjoy this evening and Happy New Year for tomorrow….
